2025 Dutchess Handmade Holiday Pop-Up Shop
Location: Arts Mid-Hudson Gallery | 696 Dutchess Turnpike, Suite F, Poughkeepsie, NY
Arts Mid-Hudson is delighted to announce the return of the Dutchess Handmade Holiday Pop-Up Shop, a seasonal showcase and sales opportunity for original, locally crafted works. Taking place in our Poughkeepsie gallery, this curated shop celebrates the artistry and creativity of the Mid-Hudson region during the most festive time of year.
We invite regional artists and makers to submit handmade works that reflect their unique vision and craft—whether shaped by hand, guided by a potter’s wheel, or produced using advanced creative tools such as fine art printers. All work must be original and created within the Mid-Hudson Valley.
This Pop-Up Shop will be thoughtfully curated with an eye toward the fall and winter seasons, including themes of Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, and other cultural or seasonal celebrations.

Arts Mid-Hudson (AMH) invites visual artists and musicians/sound artists to submit work for our upcoming juried exhibition, Sound & Vision: Exploring the Dialogue between Music and Art, opening September 18th. We’re seeking pieces that reflect how these two forms influence, echo, or inspire one another through rhythm, emotion, memory, or abstraction. This exhibition aims to highlight how sound shapes what we see, and how visuals inform the way we hear or feel music.
Details for Visual Artists
- Artists may submit up to three art pieces for consideration.
- We welcome art that captures the essence and energy of music in new and imaginative ways
- All visual artistic mediums are eligible, 2-D and 3-D (Painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, fiber, written work, and mixed media).
- 2-D Artwork must be able to hang on the wall and may not be smaller than 8” x 8” and no larger than 36” in any direction.
- Written works must fit on one 8 ½ x 11 page at 12pt font and will be printed by AMH and mounted on foam core.
- Sculptures to be displayed on a podium will be accepted on a first come first serve basis until no more space is available. Sculptures may not exceed 15 inches in any dimension.
- freestanding large sculptures (no podium) will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.
- Work must be suitable for the gallery at the discretion of the selection committee and Arts Mid-Hudson.
- Arts Mid-Hudson receives a 25% commission on the sale of artworks
- Arts Mid-Hudson will take every caution with the artwork. The artist understands that Arts Mid-Hudson does not provide insurance for artwork and agrees to exhibit the work with this stipulation.
Details for Musicians & Sound Artists
Musicians, composers, and sound artists are invited to submit:
- Artists may submit up to three art pieces for consideration.
- Pre-recorded audio tracks (3–5 minutes max) to be played on our listening station (1 TV monitor + 2 headphones).
- Audio works should be inspired by visual art, soundscapes, or musical interpretation of emotion, memory, or rhythm (explain in artist statement).
- Due to limited equipment, only 4–5 sound-based works will be selected for in-gallery listening.
- Depending on the number of submissions received, additional accepted works may be included in a supplementary digital playlist, provided in the gallery. Artist information for these works will be featured on a dedicated wall display.
- Interested in performing a short, intimate live set? Proposals for performance-based mediums are welcome. After you submit your proposal, AMH staff will reach out to set up a consultation to determine if the proposal can be accommodated.
- Live performances are limited and will be accepted on a first come, first served basis depending on space, setup, and event timing.
Eligibility: Emerging and established artists. Visual Artists must primarily reside in Dutchess, Orange, Ulster, Columbia, Greene, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, or Westchester Counties in New York State.
